Don't you just wish sometimes you could just pack your bags, get in your car and drive somewhere new?
I've been reading this book (which I adore by the way) and it's about this women who needs to escape her old life and find a new one so she drives from her home in Scotland down to a village/small town in Cornwall. She starts her new job and makes new friends and I'm pretty sure she is going to end up with the main man in the book but I'm only have way through so I'm waiting to find out. Reading this story makes me want to get away even more. I seem to relate to the woman in the book in many ways; her bad social skills, her style, the way she feels etc. I'm live in Scotland and Cornwall would be near the top of my list of places to run to. I used to go there on holiday in Summer with my family. We would stay in a little cottage up a narrow lane and it was only a short walk to the sandy beach. I still remember the little shops and cafes. I would love to go back there, or somewhere similar next to a beach. I would even stay in Scotland but move to some small town or village on the West Coast. I could re-start my life. I could be my true self.
The only problem is, is that I don't own a car. I don't have money. I've just started University and I won't finish for another 3 years and I worked too hard to get in to just through it all away for an adventure, right? I don't want to leave uni though, I have made new friends and good ones at that. Also, I'd like to get a degree so I can get a reasonably good job doing what I enjoy. It is best if I get through uni first I think. Then I can at least take sometime out before finding a job and see what happens. I think that is a good idea.
My adventure will just have to wait.
